"We cannot imagine our life without her." We just recently added Casey to our family and we cannot Imagine our life without her. She is our second rescue and it is amazing the joy a pet can bring to your life. We bring our girls Casey and Brownie with us camping, fishing, boating and they enjoy going anywhere and everywhere with us. The High Desert Humane Society is the perfect place to visit when considering adopting a pet. Thank You HDHS for making our family complete.

"God Must Have Sent Him"
In the summer of 2011 we made the very difficult decision to have our 14 year old canine
companion, Spunky, put to sleep. After all the emotional distress associated with losing him, we made the decision
not to get another pet, or so we thought.
That fall, while attending the annual Gila County fair, we met Ewok at the High Desert Humane Society booth. We knew right then and there that he was destined to be part of our family. Against our previous claim of no more pets, we decided to give Ewok a chance and filled out the adoption papers. We had no clue how much of an impact he would have on our lives in the years to follow. We picked up Ewok from the Humane Society on September 27, 2011 and welcomed him into his new home. During the first few weeks he was very shy and mainly kept to himself. It took him a while to get acquainted to his new environment but once he did he warmed up to us very fast. Seeing how excited he gets when you pull in the driveway can make all the stress from a bad day at work disappear.
After bringing him home we made the decision
to change his adopted name. Initially
a few names were tossed around
until we finally settled on Scooter. We felt that the name truly reflected his personality and fit him quite well. On
October 2, 2011 we decided to give him, his first experience in our
bathtub and needless to say, he was not a “Happy Camper”.
In November of 2011 Ann was diagnosed
with stage 4 cancer. Over the following Months she went through numerous treatments, surgeries and tests. During this difficult time Scooter was her dedicated companion that kept her company
through the good days
as well as the bad. After over 18 months of battling the disease, Ann is now officially in remission. We believe that Scooter
had such a large impact on her attitude and overall well being during
this difficult time.
God must have meant for him to become
part of our family and we are truly blessed
that he was brought into our lives.
Scooter has become
such an important part of our lives and we thank the High Desert Humane Society for everything they have done.
Thank you High Desert Humane Society! Terry, Ann, Tyler and Scooter Solberg |
