our vision

High Desert Humane envisions a society in which:
  • Every pet (with a home or homeless) lives free from suffering and has access to veterinary care, proper nutrition and basic supplies.
  • Pet-owners have access to the education and animal care resources they need to make humane and responsible decisions for their pets.
  • A humane community promotes compassion and seeks to strengthen the human-animal bond.

OUR Values

Care
We are committed to ensuring that each pet entering our facilities gets the best care possible while we search for a new, loving, forever home.
Commitment
We are deeply committed to continuous improvement, awareness and education about animal welfare issues.
Community
We believe in the collaboration of diverse communities to better serve our animals and the people who care for them, and we value all staff, volunteers, donors, and partners who make our mission achievable.
Compassion
We will seek to preserve dignity and demonstrate compassion, empathy, and kindness for all animals and people.

temporary DONATION CENTER

Thanks to the generous support of our community, the High Desert Humane Society has outgrown our current donation center located inside the furniture store at 393 N Broad St.

We will be starting to take donations from behind the thrift store at 150 West Mesquite Street in the first week of January 2023. Watch for new signs to help direct you in the coming weeks near the driveway on Pine Street.

We are working towards a more permanent solution, but we are hopeful this will make both dropping off and receiving donations easier for everyone.

Call our main number with questions 928-812-1490. Thank you so much for your patience and continued support!

HDHS Diversity and Inclusion Statement
The High Desert Humane Society values and champions diversity and inclusion. Together, we will continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our HDHS team and the communities we serve.
